Former Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson warned about what was coming in a 1966 speech where he talked about a meeting he once had with Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev:
As we talked face to face, he indicated that my grandchildren would live under communism. After assuring him that I expected to do all in my power to assure that his and all other grandchildren would live under freedom, he arrogantly declared in substance: "You Americans are so gullible. No, you won't accept communism outright; but we'll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you'll finally wake up and find that you already have communism. We won't have to fight you; we'll so weaken your economy, until you fall like overripe fruit into our hands."
The Dodd-Frank bill is set to replace the Declaration of Independence as the most important document in our history when it is presented to the
president this July 4, 2010. The FrankenDodd monster will end our 234 year pursuit of happiness. This is no joke and the date they intend to sign
this 2000+ page bill into law is no coincidence.
"It's a great moment. I'm proud to have been here," said a teary-eyed Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.), who as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee led the effort in the Senate. "No one will know until this is actually in place how it works. But we believe we've done something that has been needed for a long time. It took a crisis to bring us to the point where we could actually get this job done."
Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are in fact the authors of the crisis that will result in the passage of this bill. Does anyone believe these two
intellectual lightweights actually wrote the 2000+ page bill just in the last few months. This bill has existed for years in the hands of
ultra left wing organizations and now with the help of Frank and Dodd the crisis they needed to pass it was created.
"A new consumer protection bureau housed in the Federal Reserve would have independent funding, an independent leader and near-total autonomy to write and enforce rules. The government would have broad new powers to seize and wind down large, failing financial firms and to oversee the $600 trillion derivatives market. In addition, a council of regulators, headed by the Treasury secretary, would monitor the financial landscape for potential systemic risks. "
"This is about as important as it gets, because it deals with every single aspect of our lives," said Sen. Christopher Dodd (D., Conn.), a chief architect of the compromise.
Government-controlled Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac remain a multi billion dollar drain on the U.S. Treasury, and largely untouched by this proposal.
The legislation would redraw how money flows through the U.S. economy, from the way people borrow money to the way banks structure complicated products like derivatives. It could touch every person who has a bank account or uses a credit card.
It would erect a new consumer-protection regulator within the Federal Reserve, give the government new powers to break up failing companies and assign a council of regulators to monitor risks to the financial system. It would also set up strict new rules on big banks, limiting their risk and increasing the costs.
The draft text of the Declaration of Independence read, "Life, Liberty and Property", is was changed to "Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness" by Ben Franklin for the final version. The right to property is critical in the pursuit of happiness. Once the government can seize your property
simply because a counsel of regulators deems your pursuit of property poses a systemic risk then we have returned back to the rule of King George.
This bill represents the pinnacle of the failed thinking of socialists, that they can know and plan for every possible problem that could
occur prior to it happening. The 1500+ page health care bill and now the 2000+ page financial regulation bill are this large and complicated
because they are trying to control every financial variable in the most complex of systems.
What they are attempting to do is clearly impossible and always ends with the same result, unintended consequences. The regulations end up
removing competition from the marketplace allowing firms that otherwise would have failed to continue making bad decisions. The regulations
themselves are the source of the problem and yet we are told that the solution is even greater and more complex regulation. Eventually blame
is assigned to certain groups and activities and we are told that if those groups and activities are eliminated the system will work just fine.
For the good of all these select few must be removed from society. As more and more failures occur an ever increasing number of scapegoats are
created until large sections of society are deemed a danger to the collective good.
The unintended consequence is always the elimination of those whose beliefs and activities are not in line with the central plan. Under the
central plan of Hitler 6 million Jews needed to be eliminated. Under the central plan of Stalin 10s of millions perished. It happened to China
under Mao, to Cuba under Castro and is happening now under Chavez in Venezuela.
Before the year is over your health care, your finances, your food and your energy will all be controlled by the central planners in Washington.
You may not have a problem with this if you agree with the goals of the people who are currently in power but what will you say when that power
is handed over to a leader who no longer shares your ideals. Once you hand over the power to centrally plan every aspect of our lives the only thing
that will change is what that plan is. Right now you may love the idea of a central plan based on environmental and social justice, nuclear
disarmorment and a green economy. That is the current plan but we have given them the power to implement any plan. The next plan may be a massive
military buildup, complete disregard for environmental protection and a nationalist fervor that isolates us from the world.
Understand that no matter what the central plan would be you would be powerless to shape it and eliminated if not a benefit to it. History is
littered with examples of mass groups of people being eliminated through starvation, imprisonment or gas chambers for not being willing to support
the central plan. In just the last century here in America citizens have been put in prison camps for being deemed a possible threat. Woodrow
Wilson did it to people of German decent during World War 1 and FDR did it to Japanese and Italians during World War 2. These were American citizens
not charged with any crime but deemed a threat simply based on their ethnic heritage. I guarantee a majority of people who consider themselves
educated have no idea that these events took place here in the United States.
The prison camps in our future may be filled with those who still cling to the teachings of Jefferson and Adams. You may consider yourself fortunate
if you do not understand the principles this nation was founded on as your re-education will be quite easy. The radicals of the 1960s have simply
changed their appearance without changing their positions. They've donned a suit and tie, become professors and politicians. Read about a 1960s
group called the Weather Underground and a prominent member of the group, William Ayers. They actually planned for what would have to happen once
the system was transformed. They talked about setting up massive re-education facilities in the American Southwest. When asked what they would do about
those people who refused to accept re-education they simply stated that in their estimates 10% or roughly 25 million people would need to be
eliminated for the system to work. They actually began planning the logistics on how they would kill 25 million people once their system was in place.
If you think this is about being a Republican or a Democrat then you are sadly mistaken. Both parties have been infected with the Progressive
disease so now we must judge each individual on his own merits and route out corruption. This year may be when America hits rock bottom but
at that point their is still a choice to make, transformation or restoration. Those of us who believe America has been the best system and place
on earth will choose to restore it while the fringe currently in power will try to seize upon the moment to transform us into something entirely
